The oldest rivalry in the department, back under the lights. Two barrios that have been arguing about football since long before the league existed — settled for one night at the Complejo Deportivo San Carlos. This one's part of the Open League season, and it always boils over.

The rivalry
Why this one is different.
San Carlos is old Maldonado — inland, working, proud of it. Punta del Este is the coast, the lights, the summer crowd that never quite leaves. Put them on the same pitch and the whole department picks a side.
